One thing we have heard about is cleaners working in someone’s home and taking work calls at the same time. At Uplift Cleaning Company, professionalism is a very important value that we live at work. We even have a company policy about personal device

usage at work!

Why Don’t You Take Work Calls On Worksites?

When we are working at someone’s home, our task is cleaning that home. We will not be taking work calls. Using a personal device on break, for an emergency, or to accommodate an employee’s needs so they can work safely (like with health appliances that connect to their phone) is perfectly fine with us.  But we guarantee you that we will not be found texting casually while we are cleaning your home! No games. No texting our friends. No being distracted from the work we came here to do!

Who Answers The Phone Then?

When you choose to call, email, or reach out via social media to Uplift Cleaning Company, you will be answered by me, James the Administrative Assistant. I usually do not go on cleanings. I have in the past a few times, but my job is to communicate with people making inquiries, co-ordinate with Ada the business owner, and generally take care of answering the phone so the cleaning crew can focus on cleaning.

Professionalism Matters!

Uplift Cleaning Company believes that professionalism matters. This is reflected in us bringing an outdoor and indoor pair of shoes to your home when we clean, the fact that we are uniformed while on duty, our device usage policy, our usage of structured interviews when we are looking for new employees, and much more!

When you choose Uplift Cleaning Company, you are not just getting a clean home or office, or a yard clear of dog waste. You get professional cleaners and support staff who believe in providing the best service possible to our clients. While we are not perfect, as we are humans, we try our best to deliver on our company’s values every day!

Something that people may think about in 2026 is what value a public library really has in society today. It costs the community money to build and run one. The very nature of a library is that it houses books, which some may think are increasingly irrelevant with how digital our lives have become. But we believe that the library is actually critically important to our community.

Uplift Cleaning Company and Fort Erie Public Library

Uplift Cleaning Company has had a fantastic relationship with Fort Erie Public Library, especially the Centennial branch. The staff have always been kind, understanding, and accommodating with us every time we have utilized their services.

I have to say, Uplift Cleaning Company wouldn’t be the same without the library and the support they have provided to us! We have borrowed a study or meeting room for all three rounds of hiring we have had, and been there to do on-boarding of our new employees as well. They have provided us with an approachable professional space that has enabled us to work on recruiting and on-boarding talent. Finding a short-term office space to do this would have been costly and possibly inconvenient for all of the services we have utilized in the past year.

But The Library Is Not Just A Business Center!

And you are right about that! The Fort Erie Public Library system has a variety of activities available to the community, computers that the public can use, and of course books!

Our families have enjoyed the programs provided through the library, from young to old. In the summers we have really appreciated the activities for children, to help keep them busy during summer break.

The Library - An Important Part Of Our Community

I believe that in Fort Erie, we have some very strong and important pillars holding things together in our community. The library is one of them.

Have you visited your local library lately? If you haven't, maybe you should! There are services provided through their website as well, if going to a physical library location doesn’t work for you.

Here is a good place to start: https://www.fepl.ca/

Of course, if you need your home or office cleaned, or you need dog waste removed from your yard, Uplift Cleaning Company can help with that!

I’m sure that it has crossed your mind, as a loyal reader of Uplift Cleaning Company’s blog. Why exactly does a cleaning business have a blog?

Keeping Our Audience Informed

There are sometimes changes that we make to how our business operates that we want to communicate with the community.

Recently, when we launched our dog waste removal (poop scooping) service, we wanted to tell everyone who would listen about this important service. This blog is one tool we have available to do that.

Sometimes we attend vendor fairs throughout the Niagara region. It's important to us that you are informed of where we are for these. We would love to meet you when we are at these events! Come by and say hi to us!

Sharing What We Know

Earlier this year, we had a Buy Canadian series that consisted of made in Canada cleaning products we tested and liked. We feel that it’s important at this time to help other Canadians make informed choices about the products and services they use so they can make the best decisions for themselves.

Sharing what we know is also part of our business’s mission. Uplift Cleaning Company wants to help uplift people, by cleaning their homes, but also by helping people who don’t want or need our services to be more effective at cleaning their homes by themselves too.

We believe that all boats should rise together to make the world a better place!

Multi-Media Omnipresence!

If you have watched YouTube videos about marketing a small business in the current year, you may have heard about the concept of multi-media omnipresence. We are doing what a small business can do to be everywhere, all the time, where a potential client may be looking for a cleaning service. Having a blog is part of that strategy.

We would love to be everywhere, all the time, but that is challenging and expensive to do. What we do have is a website with a weekly blog, a Facebook page, a YouTube channel, and various advertising that we do in our community to promote the business.

Are we omnipresent? I don’t think so. One thing we don’t want to be is annoying or pushy about marketing to our potential clients. We are real people and have had the same encounters with the well-trained salespeople going door-to-door in our neighbourhoods who try to get us to switch to whatever service they are promoting today. You know the slick salesperson that once you respond to them with a greeting they can’t seem to get the message that you are busy and need them to leave you alone? Don’t worry about that with us! We at Uplift Cleaning Company can be pretty socially awkward and don’t want to have encounters like that with potential or current clients. We respect your time by not wasting it! If you want to talk to us, contact us and let's get down to business!

Being Part Of Our Community

Uplift Cleaning Company is a small business based in Fort Erie and serving the Niagara region. We don’t forget the part about serving the community. It might be in the context of Canada in general for our Buy Canadian series, or more local like when we share about Halloween in the Niagara region, or our participation in local vendor fairs or the Fort Erie Santa Claus parade.

It may be in the form of supporting local media, such as Fort Erie Radio, who we advertise with. By the way, we think that Fort Erie Radio and the people who work there are pretty great! Fort Erie needs more Fort Erie Radio! In a world of increasingly monolithic techno dystopian mega corporations trying to turn us into commodities, with a person being both a customer and product at the same time sometimes, having local choices for our media that are genuinely local is very important!

In addition, when you contact us, you are communicating with a real person who is based in Canada - Fort Erie to be precise. His name is James (It’s me!). We don’t use chat bots or AI agents, or outsource to other countries. We hire in our community too, with our employees living in the Niagara region.

So, Why Have A Blog?

Why not have a blog! It lets us keep in contact with all of the beautiful people who read our content. We would like to thank you for doing so. It means a lot to us that you take the time to read our blog. We hope that you learn something or at least get entertained by us.
