Uplift Cleaning Company has learned something on our journey to grow into what we are now: supporting local media is important!

Why is supporting local media important?

We advertise on Fort Erie Radio because it reaches people who live in Fort Erie. While this seems completely logical, using social media for marketing campaigns can sometimes lead to unexpected things happening. 

For example, we recently had an ad campaign that was supposed to only be for the Niagara region that ended up basically going all across Canada, with most of our beautiful provinces represented in the inquiries for cleaning service that we received. I think part of this was from operator error (i.e. me), with another part being from using a medium that is perhaps more suited to audiences broader than the whole Niagara region.

Local media, like Fort Erie Radio, serves the community where it is based. Therefore, if a business advertises with them, they will reach people in Fort Erie specifically.

Also, I have noticed that in the Niagara region, we have a real lack of timely news reporting in our area, with no TV station based in the region, and the newspapers for our area seem to be weekly. 

Although I may be dating myself here, I remember the blackout of 2003. I lived in Southwestern Ontario at the time, with the live-to-air reporting from my favourite radio station Z103.5 providing timely and useful information to help navigate that difficult situation. Also, it was amazing after the blackout happened when Z103.5 went all night with a non-stop Eurodance mix!

We in the Niagara region may not have access to that sort of reporting on terrestrial radio at this time. 

Fort Erie Radio is an important independent media company providing us who live in Fort Erie with crucial news and online radio about what is happening in our community. 

In our increasingly globalized world where what is happening in our community fades into the noise of larger world events, choosing local news reporting and local radio is key to maintaining that important link in our community.

Yes! With the current geopolitical situation in the world right now, it seems completely reasonable to us!

We also remember the issues of finding specific products during COVID-19. 

As a business, it is very important that we have a supply chain with enough resiliency to withstand outside problems. We do this partially by knowing what Canadian products and services there are available.

It is wise as a business, or simply to care for things in your own life, to have alternatives available for the products and services you use. If supply is disrupted, you can then switch to your back-up supplier of a similar product without interrupting your life or business.

Product Review

We can’t recommend this product enough! We tested it by cleaning a dirty, rusty, and oily tractor with the pressure washer via a soap attachment and by cleaning the garage floor to remove oil stains. It worked great in both applications! 

It can be mixed for light to severe cleaning, so read the instructions! The 4 L jug should be enough for even the biggest jobs.
